Bournemouth Council believe it or not is actively seeking to demolish the oldest building in Bournemouth. This Bournemouth Echo link explains much of the background to this:

There are a group of us collectively known as Friends of Riverside seeking to stop the demolition of the 16th Century barn as part of a wider scheme under planning application 7-2017-9177-DH, which we are also objecting to along with over 250 other people/organisations. This planning application can be found online here.

The local MP Tobias Ellwood and Molly Scott Cato MEP are amongst those who wish to keep the Cob Barn as are a number of supportive Bournemouth Councillors and of course many local residents and organizations (including Bournemouth Civic Society we understand).

We are planning an event on the next Bank Holiday Monday (28/05/18) to highlight the Cob Barn to stop it being pulled down by Bournemouth Council.
