The Autumn programme has come around yet again, and what a busy year it seems to
have been so far.
Our last Christmas Party and Lunch were very successful at our venue of the Connaught
Hotel and we will be going again this coming Christmas for our normal get together. We
had a good number last year and I am hoping that we will exceed our previous record,
re attendance, as this time the date has been brought forward, away from Christmas
week, when members tell me, that they are extremely busy trying to catch up with all
that needs to be done before the day of celebration.
This time the hotel has asked us to choose what we eat before the day and so I have given
the menu for you to complete when you apply for tickets. Hopefully doing things this way
will save postage but of course will be more work for me but that is par for the course.
The entertainment has been secured and promises to be very good again.
Like previously, you can bring along friends but to help with our overhead costs, we need
to charge an extra £1.00 for them.
Our Soup and Sandwich Meetings have again been very popular, and our numbers
have increased which is very good. I have a small lea-way before the venue gets too small
for our functions, but I am sure that the hotel can cope for the moment. Again,
like in previous years a very varied and interesting programme has been arranged.
During this coming season can everyone please bring a new face to our meetings
and functions which hopefully will increase our membership and we could
possibly discover someone who will help with the trips etc. (Many years ago, this
is how I came to be involved as Keith our then organiser invited me to a trip)
We are very highly thought of as a Society and have a very high credit rating
in our town so let us make ourselves even bigger and stronger.
