The full illustrated plans had not been published and the Society would comment later.

156 Iford Lane. An application to build a one and a half storey property on undeveloped land near the railway line. The Society considers that the site is large enough but that the property should be sited differently and consequently the application should be deferred for further consideration.

Fairview House, 17 Hinton Road. An application to build an eight storey block of 49 flats to replace a late nineteenth century mansion block currently used as offices. The Society considers that the wider perspective of Hinton Road can be preserved only if new structures are limited to six or seven stories and consequently this application should be deferred for further consideration.

35 Ophir Road. An application to create a second floor roof extension to an inter-war family house. The Society considers that the uncoordinated shape of the proposed dormer window would be out of keeping with its neighbours and the application should be deferred for further consideration.

117 Southbourne Overcliff. An application to remodel an interwar family house to create a second floor. The Society is not happy with the design of the windows which are inappropriate to the design of the house and the application should be deffered.

Woodrisings, 10 Branksome Wood Road. The application is to replace a 1970s terrace of flats with a very large five storey block of 55 flats. Such a large development would seriously affect the quality of life of neighbours and should be refused.

541 Wimborne Road. An application to create three small flats and an office area within an existing two storey shop with flat above. The resultant accommodation would be inadequate and ove r crowded and should be refused.

Talbot Public House, 59 Wimborne Road. This application to convert a well known architectural landmark into 10 flats, the Society commends this sympathetic conversion and recommends its approval.

1446 Wimborne Road. An application to build a very small chalet bungalow on a severely restricted and narrow strip of land. The Society considers the site to be totally inadequate and recommends refusal.

7 Talbot Avenue. An application to make alterations and extensions to a care home based in a fine arts and crafts family home. The Society applauds the sensitive way the alterations are set out and consider that it should be allowed.

Flat Development, Southbourne Crossroads. A plan to build four blocks of 27 flats on the existing cliff car park. The Society is unhappy with the design of the blocks which are not sympathetic with neighbouring properties and as it fails to come near to the townscape policies of the Bournemouth Town Plan it should be refused.

The Chequers Hotel, 17 West Cliff Road. The plan is to demolish the existing hotel and replace it with a four/five story block of 21 flats and six holiday flats. The Society strongly supports the proposal and recommends its approval

Planning Board Observations. Ken commented on the three Bournemouth

applications that had been decided.

Communications Timetable. The June Newsletter had been distributed together

with the accounts for 2020/21, the Bournemouth and Beyond events listing and a

membership application form.
