      1. Minutes.\u00a0 <\/strong>The minutes for the meeting held on 26th<\/sup> November were agreed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

         <\/p>\n

        1. Matters Arising from the Minutes:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
            \n
          • Planning Boards Post Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Amalgamation.\u00a0 <\/strong>The Overview and Scrutiny Committee met on 10th<\/sup> December and the Shadow Executive Committee will meet on 12th<\/sup> February.\u00a0 At this stage a single planning committee is envisaged but it is hoped that practicalities and the need for local distinctiveness of policy and development control will \u00a0result in separate sub committees for each borough.<\/li>\n
          • Bournemouth University Graduate History Project.<\/strong>\u00a0 Ken met the team members this morning. The team have divided the work amongst themselves and the plans and proposals look promising.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            1. The Planning Policy Steering Group:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
                \n
              • Next Meeting.\u00a0 <\/strong>The Group met on 10th<\/sup> December when it considered the Local Plan, Neighbourhood Plans and the National Planning Policy. Also considered was the Town Centre Vision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                 <\/p>\n

                1. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Built Environment. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  \u00a0\u00a06.1\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Winter Gardens.\u00a0 <\/strong>Plans were approved on 28th<\/sup> November<\/p>\n

                  6.2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A338\/Wessex Fields.\u00a0 <\/strong>To be considered by the Planning Board on 28th<\/sup> January with<\/p>\n

                  recommendations to approve.\u00a0 The Society has supported proposals that it should be<\/p>\n

                  \u2018called in\u2019 by the Secretary of State as requested by Friends of Riverside, Tobias<\/p>\n

                  Elwood MP and \u00a0Holdenhurst Parish Meeting amongst others.<\/p>\n

                   <\/p>\n

                  6.3\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cliff Hotel.\u00a0 <\/strong>Plans rejected, may continue as an hotel.<\/p>\n

                  6.4\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 14-20A Belle Vue Road\u00a0 <\/strong>Plans rejected so bungalows will be retained.<\/p>\n

                  6.5\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Southbourne Conservation Area.\u00a0 <\/strong>Work continues. Ken to speak with Verity.<\/p>\n

                  6.6\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Carillion Oil.\u00a0 <\/strong>The rig was expected on 28th<\/sup> January.<\/p>\n

                  6.7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Beale Place.\u00a0 <\/strong>Pedestrianisation and improvements due to start soon.<\/p>\n

                  6.8 \u00a0\u00a0 Boscombe and Pokesdown Neighbourhood Plan.\u00a0 <\/strong>First meeting was on 16th<\/sup><\/p>\n

                  January.<\/p>\n

                  6.9\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bournemouth Town Centre Vision.\u00a0 <\/strong>Responses were due on 6th<\/sup> January<\/p>\n

                  6.10\u00a0 Belgravia Hotel.\u00a0 <\/strong>James Podesta has spoken to John S re redevelopment<\/p>\n

                  6.11\u00a0 Radcliffe Court.\u00a0 <\/strong>A revised plan doubling the number of flats has been submitted<\/p>\n

                  1. Heritage and Conservation.<\/strong>\n
                      \n
                    • 2a and 2b Bradbourne Road. <\/strong>Plans rejected by Council<\/li>\n
                    • Michelgrove House. <\/strong>Ken had left a message with Parry Brooks and would visit once Hilda had contacted Parry to establish what the current situation was.<\/li>\n
                    • Regent Cinema. <\/strong>No news so keeping a watching brief.<\/li>\n
                    • BNSS Rooflight.<\/strong> Ken had given John Cresswell the support he sought.\u00a0 John also supplied a history of the building (39 Christchurch Road) and it was suggested this could be a project for the Bournemouth University History Graduates<\/li>\n
                    • Nuffield Hospital, Lansdowne Road. <\/strong>James had been approached concerning plans<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                      for redevelopment and so John would check the plans and arrange for them both to meet them.<\/p>\n

                        \n
                      • Winton Fire Station. <\/strong>A concerned resident has contacted John S.<\/li>\n
                      • Bournemouth Historic Buildings (Echo Feature). <\/strong>This was Bill Bryson and Ken<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        looking at the historic architectural features above the shop fronts in the town centre and character buildings around the town.<\/p>\n

                          \n
                        • The Triangle. <\/strong>The Stables have now been demolished<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                          \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

                          1. Planning.\u00a0 <\/strong>See John Soane\u2019s report:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                            • \u00a0 <\/strong>Plans for a novelty mini-golf course.\u00a0 Passed, but Society not keen.<\/li>\n
                            • The Cottage, Manor Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>The remodelled plans were acceptable<\/li>\n
                            • 5-7 Clarendon Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Plans for 19 flats wrong for the area, 43 objections.\u00a0 Reject<\/li>\n
                            • 3 Edgehill Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Plans for 3 houses to fill a gap \u2013 approve<\/li>\n
                            • 33-35A St Clement\u2019s Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Plans for 6 flats \u2013 defer to remove the workshop and<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                              improve fenestration.<\/p>\n

                              • 28-31 Southcote Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>23 Student flats \u2013 OK for this site<\/li>\n
                              • Law Courts, Stafford Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Plans submitted by the Livingstone Academy \u2013 defer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                for improved design<\/p>\n

                                • Punshon Church Site.\u00a0 <\/strong>Plans for 85 flats \u2013 refuse<\/li>\n
                                • 3 Southbourne Coast Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Plans for a pair of semis \u2013 defer for improved design<\/li>\n
                                • 58 Harewood Avenue. <\/strong>Plans for 2 bungalows – refuse<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                  1. Planning Board Observations. \u00a0<\/strong>John S did not attend as it was only TPOs being discussed.<\/li>\n
                                  2. Communications Timetable. \u00a0<\/strong>Newsletter published, info for Summer edition<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                    to Sally by end of June.<\/p>\n

                                    1. Civic Voice. <\/strong>Received information had been distributed. Arrangements being confirmed re Civic Voice Chair as Guest Speaker at our AGM and a South West meeting of Civic Societies that afternoon.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                      1. Bournemouth 2026\u00a0 <\/strong>Elaine attended their AGM and reported \u00a0they had cash flow problems and would be producing a report soon on the way forward.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                        \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

                                        1. Bournemouth-in-Bloom. <\/strong>No report as Beryl recouperating. The Committee sent her their best wishes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                          \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

                                          1. Activities Officer.\u00a0 <\/strong>No report but Ken had established a liaison with Blandford<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                            Civic Society which was keen to run joint outings (subsequently Wimborne Civic<\/p>\n

                                            Society have expressed their wish to be included also). Ken to contact respective Chairmen and report further.<\/p>\n

                                            1. Membership Officer\u2019s Report. <\/strong>Sally updated on year end figures for annual \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0and life members. It was agreed that we should have a have a membership drive.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                              1. Webmaster\u2019s Report.<\/strong> All up to date and enquiries received through web have<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
