      1. Minutes.\u00a0 <\/strong>The minutes for the meeting held on 22nd<\/sup> October were agreed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        1. Matters Arising from the Minutes:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          • Andrew England.\u00a0 <\/strong>The farewell and thank you card had been delivered to Andrew<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            England by Elaine having been signed by the Committee.<\/p>\n

              \n
            • Planning Boards Post Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Amalgamation.\u00a0 <\/strong>Replies had been received from Cllr David Smith and Caroline Peach advising no decision had yet been reached concerning the method of determination of Planning Applications post local government reorganisation. Our view was that that individual planning boards or arrangements for each borough were necessary due to the volume of work suggested and the current separate local plans and identities in the boroughs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              1. The Planning Policy Steering Group:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                • Next Meeting.\u00a0 <\/strong>The next meeting of the Group would be on 10th<\/sup> December when it would consider local plans and national planning policy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                   <\/p>\n

                  1. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Built Environment. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    \u00a0\u00a06.1\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Winter Gardens.\u00a0 <\/strong>Plans go to the Board on 28th<\/sup> November, officers recommend<\/p>\n

                    \u2018grant\u2019 despite concerns from Historic England, residents and the Society.<\/p>\n

                    6.2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A338\/Wessex Fields.\u00a0 <\/strong>A revised plan has been submitted, this retains the barn but<\/p>\n

                    sees it surrounded by highway infrastructure. John S would pick up in next monthly<\/p>\n

                    planning digest.<\/p>\n

                    6.3\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 13 Belle Vue Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>The plan to replace the hotel with flats had been rejected.<\/p>\n

                    6.4\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Carillon Oil.\u00a0 <\/strong>Licences had been approved, work likely to start in 2019<\/p>\n

                    6.5\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lucerne Arch.\u00a0 <\/strong>Another report had been received from Councillor Hedges<\/p>\n

                    6.6\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Boscombe & Pokesdown Neighbourhood Plan.\u00a0 <\/strong>Elaine attended the AGM<\/p>\n

                    6.7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 East Cliff Lifts.\u00a0 <\/strong>The Council claimed that it did not have the funds to restore the lifts<\/p>\n

                    but the Echo had run several recent articles seeking to reverse this decision due to<\/p>\n

                    public opinion.<\/p>\n

                    1. Heritage and Conservation.<\/strong>\n

                      • 2a and 2b Bradbourne Road. <\/strong>New plan submitted \u2013 John S would include in latest planning digest.<\/li>\n
                      • Michelgrove House. <\/strong>Ken had left a message with Parry Brooks and would visit .<\/li>\n
                      • Regent Cinema. <\/strong>London \u2018Theatricals\u2019 were being approached as they may well be interested in investing in out of London theatres.<\/li>\n
                      • BNSS Rooflight.<\/strong> John Cresswell had approached Ken for support re. renovation of the lantern rooflight at 39 Christchurch Road. He would follow up with advice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                        1. Planning.\u00a0 <\/strong>See John Soane\u2019s report:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                          • 71 Boscombe Overcliff Drive.<\/strong>\u00a0 Plan to replace bungalow with a modern block of<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                            flats \u2013 Ok for the position in relation to neighbouring modern properties but better<\/p>\n

                            side elevation needed – defer<\/p>\n

                              \n
                            • 2a & 2b Bradbourne Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Proposed flats unsuitable for this site – refuse<\/li>\n
                            • Richmond Gardens.\u00a0 <\/strong>Proposed blocks too large \u2013 refuse<\/li>\n
                            • Herbert Hospital.<\/strong>\u00a0 Proposal to extend the lodge (not part of the original<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                              contentious plans) was OK but alternative sites should be investigated \u2013 defer<\/p>\n

                                9.2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Winton Cricket Pavilion.\u00a0 <\/strong>Change of use of first floor from flat to office approved<\/p>\n

                                9.3\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a042a Fernside Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Application for HMO deferred \u2013 too many HMOs in area,<\/p>\n

                                9.4\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 61 Richmond Park Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Replacement of house with 2\/3 storey block, poor design<\/p>\n

                                    11.1\u00a0\u00a0 Speaker at Our AGM.\u00a0 <\/strong>Jean Humble, Chair of Blackpool Civic Trust would be the<\/p>\n

                                    speaker at the AGM.\u00a0 There was a request that representatives from local Civic<\/p>\n

                                    Societies be invited which was a good idea. Ken has emailed Ian Harvey so reply<\/p>\n

                                    awaited.<\/p>\n

                                    1. Bournemouth 2026 \u00a0<\/strong>Elaine would attend the AGM on 28th<\/sup> November<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                      1. Bournemouth-in-Bloom. <\/strong>Bournemouth achieved \u2018gold\u2019 in all judged<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                        sections for the National Class \u2013 no bad marks \u2013 a great result.<\/p>\n

                                                  18.1 Bournemouth University Graduate History Programme<\/strong> \u2013 Ken reported he had attended two meetings with the four students who were working on our project and they had received the archive material received from our founding Chairman and preparing options\/ideas on how to best conserve\/use it.<\/p>\n
