          \u00a0 4.1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cultural Strategy.\u00a0 <\/strong>Ken had emailed and thanked Andrea Frances for her and Cllr<\/p>\n

          Pat Oakley\u2019s attendance and presentation at the last meeting<\/p>\n

          4.2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cultural Development Fund.\u00a0 <\/strong>James was invited to a meeting today but was unable<\/p>\n

          to attend so Elaine would cover.<\/p>\n

          1. \u00a0 The Planning Policy Steering Group. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            \u00a0 5.1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Conservation Area Consultations. <\/strong>The public consultation on the three<\/p>\n

            Conservation Area Reviews and Management Plans for East Cliff & Town Centre,<\/p>\n

            Old Christchurch Road and Poole Hill & West Cliff were continuing.\u00a0 John S<\/p>\n

            monitoring.<\/p>\n

            1. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Built Environment.\u00a0 <\/strong>\n

              • A338\/RBH Access Roads.\u00a0 <\/strong>Peter reported that the Planning Officer had<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                \u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>recommended rejection of the proposals on a variety of planning grounds earlier this<\/p>\n

                year and the meeting of the Planning Board to discuss the application was expected<\/p>\n

                shortly.<\/p>\n

                  \n
                • Durley Road Car Park.\u00a0 <\/strong>Plans for the redevelopment of this car park had been<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  \u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>refused by Planning Board at their last meeting.<\/p>\n

                    \n
                  • Purple Flag.\u00a0 <\/strong>Ken noted that he had heard from Jon Skip and there would be a<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    \u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>meeting soon.<\/p>\n

                      \n
                    • Town Centre Management Plan Public Consultation.\u00a0 <\/strong>Jean and Hilda had attended<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                      \u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>the workshops in June and July.<\/p>\n

                        \n
                      • Queens Park Neighbourhood Plan.\u00a0 <\/strong>Ken noted that the local Area Forum had been<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        in touch regarding support with the new Neighbourhood Plan and heritage walks.<\/p>\n

                          \n
                        • Pokesdown Neighbourhood Plan.<\/strong> The Neighbourhood Plan had now been through<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                          the relevant stages and had been sent to the Council by the Area Forum and should be<\/p>\n

                          afforded \u201cmaterial consideration\u201d weight in planning applications.<\/p>\n

                            \n
                          • Richmond Gardens Student Accommodation Plans.\u00a0 <\/strong>Pegasus\u2019 had sent an email to<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                            the Society regarding their plans. Ken had replied asking for what the SWRDP and<\/p>\n

                            Council views where since it was intimated they were supportive and John S would<\/p>\n

                            check the plans. Initial views on the plans sent around this Committee were that they<\/p>\n

                            were tall, blocky, out of place and uninspiring.<\/p>\n

                              \n
                            • 140 Alumhurst Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Very disappointingly the appeal had been \u00a0allowed and work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                              has resumed this last week.<\/p>\n

                              1. \u00a0Heritage and Conservation.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                • Westover Road Cinemas. <\/strong>James had at long last received a reply and comments on<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                  \u00a0 <\/strong>the decision not to list the building. All considered the reply hugely disappointing.<\/p>\n

                                  The recent appeal was now in the hands of the Planning Inspectorate.<\/p>\n

                                    \n
                                  • Cliff End Hotel.<\/strong> \u00a0No news on the planning application other that the Echo had<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                    \u00a0 <\/strong>featured a report on local residents concerns about the derelict site and the delay in<\/p>\n

                                    any form of progress.<\/p>\n

                                    • 14-20A Belle Vue Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>The Society would comment, see below, on the revised<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                      \u00a0 <\/strong>plans.<\/p>\n

                                      • Hicks Farm, Throop.\u00a0 <\/strong>Awaiting public consultation but was discussed at Andrew<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                            • 8 Carbery Avenue.\u00a0 <\/strong>19 objections had been received to plans for four houses -refuse<\/li>\n
                                            • 46-48 Dalmeny Road (corner Harbour Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Plans for 9 flats – refuse<\/li>\n
                                            • 3 The Triangle.\u00a0 <\/strong>Extension for two flats in courtyard – refuse<\/li>\n
                                            • 1079A-1081 Christchurch Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Proposed flats are nicely designed – approve<\/li>\n
                                            • 3 Edgehill Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Three well designed houses \u2013 allow<\/li>\n
                                            • Pembroke Hotel, Poole Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>The well designed restoration will improve the area \u2013<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                              • 14-28A Bellevue Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>The revised designs are even worse than before – refuse<\/li>\n
                                              • Echo Building.\u00a0 <\/strong>A good design, but the top storey should be removed \u2013 defer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                                    • 13-15 Seafield Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>A home for elderly dementia patients was allowed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                                      1. Communications Timetable. <\/strong>Items for next newsletter to be submitted by<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                                        \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/strong>31st<\/sup> July. Ken noted he would draft the newsletter but as this was his busiest time<\/p>\n

                                                        of the year at work it would be getting the text across to the printers during early<\/p>\n

                                                        August. Beryl was thanked for already drafting the activities pages that would<\/p>\n

                                                        accompany the newsletter.<\/p>\n

                                                        1. Civic Voice. <\/strong>AGM in Birmingham 19-20 October. Jean and David might be able<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                                          1. Bournemouth 2026 \u00a0<\/strong>Elaine noted that there was nothing to \u00a0report since last<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                                            1. Bournemouth-in-Bloom. <\/strong>Beryl reported as follows:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                                              14.1.\u00a0 \u00a0Britain-in-Bloom Inspections.\u00a0 <\/strong>The South\/South East inspection had been<\/p>\n

                                                              \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong>completed, national inspection will be during the last week of July.<\/p>\n

                                                              14.2\u00a0\u00a0 Students.\u00a0 <\/strong>Three students were working with the Parks Department (Bermuda<\/p>\n

                                                              \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/strong>Scholarship)<\/p>\n

                                                               <\/p>\n

                                                              14.3<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bournemouth In Bloom<\/strong>. The hot and dry weather was proving really<\/p>\n

                                                              \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>troublesome to entrants, judges and all those involved in the competition, due to<\/p>\n

                                                              plants and gardens going over sooner than usual due to the dry weather.<\/p>\n

                                                                • Cranbury Park Visit 2nd<\/sup> <\/strong>This was a great success. Ken and Debbie were<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                                                  \u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>thanked for standing in for Keith and taking the pressure off Beryl.<\/p>\n

                                                                  • Autumn Programme. <\/strong>Beryl reported that the Autumn programme was complete.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                                                    \u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Lunches booked and the flyer would go out with the Summer Newsletter.<\/p>\n

                                                                            19.2\u00a0\u00a0 Meeting with Andrew England on 20th<\/sup> July. <\/strong>Jean and John reported as follows:<\/p>\n

                                                                            • Punshon Site: The developers considered the plans were not viable \u2013 more flats rather than hotel rooms might be proposed?<\/li>\n
                                                                            • Crazy Golf at IMAX site<\/li>\n
                                                                            • Swimming Pools. No chance of any new building in town due to economic viability and current provision.<\/li>\n
                                                                            • Training Hotel by BIC \u2013 planning still in progress<\/li>\n
                                                                            • Cinemas and Westover Rd. There was a real fear that cinemas were trashed before vacating!<\/li>\n
                                                                            • Hicks Farm Proposals \u2013 see report above<\/li>\n
                                                                            • A338 and RBH Plans \u2013 see report above<\/li>\n
                                                                            • \u2018Happyland\u2019 Proposals \u2013 a Boutique Hotel with no car parking was on the cards.<\/li>\n
                                                                            • Cliff End Hotel \u2013 a mains sewer had been discovered below the hotel which could be reason for the prolonged delays.<\/li>\n
                                                                            • Castle Lane Traffic \u2013 Remains a real problem<\/li>\n
                                                                            • Castlepoint Car Park \u2013 restricted use for a prolonged period whilst rebuild takes place<\/li>\n
                                                                            • Southbourne Heritage Forum (Belle Vue Rd plans) \u2013 our support for the local residents re-stated.<\/li>\n
                                                                            • Grand Cinema (Bingo Hall) \u2013 Wetherspoons still the likely tenant<\/li>\n
                                                                            • Pier Landing Stage \u2013 no hope for reinstatement as costs of at least \u00a31.5m and would take Council years and years to recoup costs through landing stage fees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                                                              \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 19.4\u00a0\u00a0 Dorset Architectural Heritage Week. <\/strong>Peter noted this was taking place in<\/p>\n

                                                                              September.<\/p>\n

                                                                              \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 19.5\u00a0\u00a0 Impact of National Planning Policy Guidance .\u00a0 <\/strong>John agreed to progress a report<\/p>\n

                                                                              on the impact on Bournemouth of the extra homes and residents envisaged by<\/p>\n

                                                                              Government plans and the NPPF after his holiday. Ken would assist and the report<\/p>\n

                                                                              would be shared with the Council and other interested parties.<\/p>\n
