      1. Minutes.\u00a0 <\/strong>The minutes for the meeting held on 23rd<\/sup> April were agreed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

         <\/p>\n

        1. \u00a0 Matters Arising from the Minutes. \u00a0<\/strong>There were no matters arising<\/li>\n
        2. \u00a0 The Planning Policy Steering Group. \u00a0<\/strong>The Group had met on 18th<\/sup> May and received updates on the arrangements for the next stages of the Local Plan and upcoming consultation on the Conservation Area Reviews and Management Plans for The East Cliff, Town Centre & Old Christchurch Rd and Poole Hill and West Cliff. Our views on the three Conservation Areas had been sent in after the last meeting so would be considered as part of\u00a0 the public consultation process.<\/li>\n
        3. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Built Environment.\u00a0 <\/strong>\n
            \n
          • A338\/Bournemouth Hospital.\u00a0 <\/strong>Still waiting for planning application to be considered by Planning Board. The local campaign group has arranged a meeting at the cob barn at 1030 on Bank Holiday Monday. Their flyer is on our website.<\/li>\n
          • Town Hall (post reorganisation).\u00a0 <\/strong>Ken took part in a local BBC South TV interview and then Radio Solent interview re potential sale and re-use of the Town Hall if it were no longer needed in the new Bmth, Poole and Christchurch Council arrangements.<\/li>\n
          • Purple Flag.\u00a0 <\/strong>Jon Shipp had sent through the submission on the upcoming Town Centre Night Time Economy review. Comments would be sent back to him.<\/li>\n
          • Winter Gardens.<\/strong> Revised plans had been lodged with the Council so John S would review them and comment on the next Monthly Comments on Planning Applications digest.<\/li>\n
          • 250-252 Christchurch Road<\/strong>. An Echo report had featured the Society\u2019s views on the plans here.<\/li>\n
          • Durley Car Park.<\/strong> An Echo report had featured the Society\u2019s views on the plans here.<\/li>\n
          • 1 Nelson Road.<\/strong> An Echo report had featured the Society\u2019s views on the plans here.<\/li>\n
          • Portman Pub, Ashley Road.<\/strong> An Echo report had featured the Society\u2019s views on the plans here<\/li>\n
          • Town Centre Management Plan Public Consultation Meetings.<\/strong> It was agreed that Jean would attend the meeting on 5th<\/sup> June at 930am and Hilda would attend the meeting on 3rd<\/sup><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            1. Heritage and Conservation.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
                \n
              • Westover Road Cinemas. <\/strong>Dates were still awaited for the Appeal Hearings by the Planning Inspectorate.<\/li>\n
              • Grand Cinema (Bingo Hall) Westbourne.\u00a0 <\/strong>Wetherspoon\u2019s plan or alternative community plans are still awaited.<\/li>\n
              • Cliff End Hotel.<\/strong>\u00a0 Date for Planning Board where latest plans will be considered is awaited.<\/li>\n
              • Boscombe and Pokesdown.\u00a0 <\/strong>Good news received with rejection by Council of plans for 36 Southbourne Rd. The May Market took place on 19th<\/sup><\/li>\n
              • Plans for 14-20a Belle Vue Road had been slightly revised but still appeared wholly unsuitable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                1. Planning.\u00a0 <\/strong>As this meeting is a week earlier than usual John Soane\u2019s digest will be circulated by email for review by the Committee \u00a0before sending to Council:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  • St Swithuns House, 21 Christchurch Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>The proposed redevelopment of the<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    \u00a0<\/strong>BCHA offices were acceptable.<\/p>\n

                      \n
                    • Former Winton Fire Station, 520 Wimborne Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Plans needed to be improved<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                      \u00a0 <\/strong>especially the rear extension.<\/p>\n

                        \n
                      • 2 Midland Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>The proposed flat block was too big and should be refused<\/li>\n
                      • 131 Columbia \u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>The suggested eight dwellings are too many for the site and should be rejected<\/li>\n
                      • 515 Christchurch Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>The proposal for three flats over the narrow rear courtyard<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        \u00a0<\/strong>were an undesirable form of development.<\/p>\n

                          \n
                        • Hollies Pub, 1008 Wimborne Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>The conversion of the former pub to flats was<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                          acceptable.<\/p>\n

                          • Planning Sub-Committee.\u00a0 <\/strong>No meeting necessary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Activities Officer. <\/strong>Ken reported that an email had been received from the Estate Office at Cranbury Park regarding a visit on 2nd<\/sup> July booked three years ago by Keith. Names of those attending were needed by 25th<\/sup> As Beryl was very busy with Bmth in Bloom Ken had volunteered to deal with arrangements for this \u201csurprise visit\u201d.<\/li>\n
                                        2. Membership Officer\u2019s Report. <\/strong>No change<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                          1. Webmaster\u2019s Report.<\/strong> Up to date and current . Three further enquiries through the website since the last meeting. It was agreed to reimburse Ken the \u00a341.99 annual webhosting fee he had paid to TSOhost.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                                20.1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cultural Strategy for Bournemouth.\u00a0 <\/strong>Andrea Francis and Cllr Pat Oakley would attend the next meeting to give an overview of the Cultural Strategy. <\/strong><\/p>\n

                                                20.2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Elizabeth Scott. <\/strong>An email had been received asking about the local architect and designer of Pier Theatre Elizabeth Scott. Sally had written an article about her for the Theatres Trust that was held at Bournemouth Library so Hilda would advise the enquirer.<\/p>\n

                                                20.<\/strong>3\u00a0\u00a0 Cycling on Prom .<\/strong> Concern was expressed regarding a rumour that cycling might be allowed throughout the season along the entirely of the Bournemouth and Poole promenade. Jean would contact her ward councillor to establish the facts.<\/p>\n
