      1. Minutes.\u00a0 <\/strong>The minutes for the meeting held on 26th<\/sup> March were agreed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        1. \u00a0 Matters Arising from the Minutes. \u00a0<\/strong>There were no matters arising<\/li>\n
        2. \u00a0 The Planning Policy Steering Group. \u00a0<\/strong>The Group\u2019s next meeting is 18th<\/sup> May<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          \u00a0 5<\/strong>.<\/strong>1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Housing Density.\u00a0 <\/strong>It was agreed that Ken, James and John S would collaborate to write a report on the impact of the recent Government Directive to double the number of new homes required taking into account the Green Belt, the character of the area and the non-desirability of a large number of high-rise buildings<\/p>\n

          1. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Built Environment.\u00a0 <\/strong>\n
              \n
            • A338\/Bournemouth Hospital.\u00a0 <\/strong>Waiting for planning application to be considered.<\/li>\n
            • Town Hall (post reorganisation).\u00a0 <\/strong>Ken had been asked to take part in local tv interview re potential sale and re-use of Town Hall is it were no longer needed in the new Bmth, Poole and Christchurch Council arrangements. It was felt that the centre location in the middle of the new Council area made it ideal to continue in Civic Centre use but improvements were needed to the access and sound system in the Council Chamber so members of the public could better see and hear debates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

              • Purple Flag.\u00a0 <\/strong>Ken had just met Jon Shipp and the Civic Society would be included I the consultee list for the upcoming Town Centre Night Time Economy review. Topics of Place and Well Being particularly matched out interest in the appearance, character and attractions\/offer of the Town Centre and its built\/natural form.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                1. \u00a0Heritage and Conservation.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  • Westover Road Cinemas. <\/strong>James had submitted the appeal submissions for both cinemas so we now awaited to hear on progress from the planning inspectorate.<\/li>\n
                  • Grand Cinema (Bingo Hall) Westbourne.\u00a0 <\/strong>Wetherspoon\u2019s plan or alternative community plans are awaited.<\/li>\n
                  • Cliff End Hotel.<\/strong>\u00a0 Planning Board decision awaited on the latest plans.<\/li>\n
                  • Boscombe and Pokesdown.\u00a0 <\/strong>The local Neighbourhood Plan continued to progress and there had ben a public meeting on 18th<\/sup> Concern on the recent decision re \u00a0\u00a0Gainsborough Court and lack of maintenance of a traditional shop front at 860 Christchurch Road showed the plan was sorely needed.<\/li>\n
                  • Conservation Areas. <\/strong>Elaine attended the West Cliff & Poole Hill , James the East Cliff and John S the Old Christchurch Road Town Centre Conservation Area review meetings recently arranged by Donald Insall.\u00a0 <\/strong>They agreed that the reviews had been constructive\u00a0 with good consideration of appropriate (character, culture and heritage) additions and\u00a0 deletions to the boundaries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    1. Planning.\u00a0 <\/strong>See John Soane\u2019s report:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                      • Durley Chine Car Park.\u00a0 <\/strong>The proposed block of flats were well positioned on the<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        site.\u00a0 Acceptable<\/p>\n

                        • 4 Upper Terrace Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Plans to use the refurbished building for homeless<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                          youngsters and visitors were good<\/p>\n

                            \n
                          • 96 Lowther Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>The proposed flats were too big for the site and could set an<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                            unwelcome precedent in this road.\u00a0 Should be deferred for a better scheme.<\/p>\n

                              \n
                            • 64 Portchester Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>The suggested extension was ugly and too large.\u00a0 Reject<\/li>\n
                            • 70 Christchurch Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>The proposal for an extension and 7 new flats was<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                              unacceptable<\/p>\n

                              • 27 Southbourne Overcliff Drive.\u00a0 <\/strong>The \u2018modernist\u2019 extension was inappropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                    • 19-21 Branksome Dene Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>New plans were an improvement.<\/li>\n
                                    • Valette Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Proposals were considered by local residents and us as an over-development but had been allowed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Bournemouth-in-Bloom. <\/strong>Beryl reported that wew gardens were being \u00a0\u00a0created in Westbourne, \u00a0outside Marks and Spencer to commemorate the end of World War 1 and in Pine Ave\/Southbourne Grove, Southbourne to commemorate votes for women. Judging for Britain in Bloom took place soon.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                                          by members, especially the talk by Caroline Peach. It was agreed to book at the same venue at same time on 1st<\/sup> April 2019.<\/p>\n
