              5,1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A338\/Bournemouth Hospital.\u00a0 <\/strong>Local MPs have objected to Phase 2 and there are<\/p>\n

              queries as to possible pollution.\u00a0 Hilda to join Elaine at meetings of the campaign group.<\/p>\n

                • Westover Road Cinemas. <\/strong>No news.<\/li>\n
                • Cliff End Hotel. <\/strong>We are waiting details of \u00a0a meeting with Meyrick estate and their architect.<\/li>\n
                • Boscombe and Pokesdown. <\/strong>No news.<\/li>\n
                • Echo Building.<\/strong> There had been an open day on 19th<\/sup> October at which imaginative plans for the future use of the building were put forward.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    • Winter Gardens. <\/strong>The revised plans showed improvements.\u00a0 The interior open space was good, but the proposed layout was too formal.\u00a0 The tower on the corner of Priory Road needed to be reduced.\u00a0 English Heritage had produced an excellent report and<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                      its\u2019 suggestions were hoped to be adopted by the developer.<\/p>\n

                      • Hilton Hotel. <\/strong>The proposed transparent cube on the roof was acceptable<\/li>\n
                      • 56 Christchurch Road. <\/strong>A redesign was needed for the suggested \u2018fake Victorian\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        flats, but the flats to replace the Coach House were acceptable<\/p>\n

                        • 7 East Overcliff Drive. <\/strong>The revised plans were a big improvement<\/li>\n
                        • 76 Wimborne Road. <\/strong>The propose1d development was too large \u2013 the top storey would ruin the streetscene.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                          1. Planning Sub-Committee.\u00a0 <\/strong>The Society\u2019s Planning Sub-Committee did not need to meet.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                              • Tree Preservation Orders. <\/strong>Two orders were upheld.<\/li>\n
                              • 7 South Road. <\/strong>Change of use to HMO was agreed<\/li>\n
                              • 18-22a Studland Road. <\/strong>Plans for 2 blocks of flats (45 units) were refused<\/li>\n
                              • 14-18 Wharfedale Road. <\/strong>Plans for 8 houses, 10 flats and 8 commercial units were<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                Approved<\/p>\n

                                • 140 Alumhurst Road. <\/strong>Proposed alterations and extensions were refused<\/li>\n
                                • 2 and 2a Fitzharris Avenue.<\/strong> Change of use from care home to HMO was refused<\/li>\n
                                • 4 Glamis Avenue.<\/strong> Change of use to HMO was agreed<\/li>\n
                                • 1 McWilliam Road. <\/strong>Erection of two houses was approved<\/li>\n
                                • 105 Parkway Drive.<\/strong> Alterations and extensions were approved<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                          • South\/South East Award Ceremony at Effingham. <\/strong>Some 100 members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                            attended.\u00a0 Bournemouth won 23 gold and 2 silver gilt.\u00a0 <\/strong>Unlike other towns,<\/p>\n

                                            Bournemouth arranged for the \u2018workers\u2019 to collect the individual awards to acknowledge their work and importance<\/p>\n

                                              • Soup and Sandwich. <\/strong>The October event was enjoyed by all who attended . The<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                                \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>November lunch would see the return of a popular speaker whose previous talk was<\/p>\n

                                                spoiled by the lack of black-out in the room.<\/p>\n
