BOURNEMOUTH CIVIC SOCIETY<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Minutes of a Meeting of the Committee held at 18 Sandbourne Road<\/strong><\/p>\n at 2pm on Monday 27th<\/sup> February 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Secretary)<\/em>, John Soane (Built Environment Officer,) <\/em>James Weir (Heritage and Conservation Officer), <\/em>and Paul Newsome (Minutes Secretary)<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n 4.1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Closure of Lansdowne Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Sally reported that she had learnt that the closure of<\/p>\n the road over the Christmas and New Year\u2019s Eve and the resulting bus re-directioning<\/p>\n was due to road works and so didn\u2019t need to be raised at the next meeting with<\/p>\n Andrew England.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>last week regarding the Local Plan Review and the Government\u2019s new Housing White<\/p>\n Paper discussed. He had been unable to attend due to work commitments but had<\/p>\n circulated the papers<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 5.1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Wessex Hotel.<\/strong>\u00a0 It was felt that from the recent meeting with Andrew England and Carolyn Peach that the Planning Department supported our contention that the case for demolition had not been proved and rehabilitation of the existing building should be the first option.<\/p>\n 5.2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Belvedere Hotel.\u00a0 <\/strong>A special meeting of the Planning Board held on 23rd<\/sup> January<\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>approved the plans. The timing of redevelopment of the existing dilapidated buildings<\/p>\n (hopefully soon) would be queried at the next meeting with Andrew England.<\/p>\n 5.3\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hospital Access from the A338 Spur Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Technical studies were taking place and there were workshops in neighbouring areas to present the plans to the public.<\/p>\n 5.4\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Branksome Hill Road.\u00a0 <\/strong>Richard Carr was appealing the refusal of permission.<\/p>\n 5.5\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Moorside Cottage.\u00a0 <\/strong>The plans had been deferred. John S agreed to check then and comment as necessary.<\/p>\n 5.6\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Undisclosed Building.\u00a0 <\/strong>Peter Tisdale of THAT Group had sought a meeting with the Planning Sub-Committee (Ken, John S, James, John B and Elaine on 3rd<\/sup> April at 930am to discuss his plans.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n renovation. Beryl would obtain further details so the level of support by Civic Society could be discussed.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n and Crafts\u2019 flatlet block<\/p>\n 4 flats was unnecessary and should be refused.<\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>flats built in character should be permitted.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>B had a very satisfactory meeting with Andrew England and Caroline Peach on 20th<\/sup><\/p>\n Feb.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>committee member was Andre Thomas who had since resigned and no cover had<\/p>\n been arranged.
