Minutes of a Meeting of the Executive Committee held at St. Ambrose Church, West Cliff Road at 1.00pm on Monday 30th<\/sup> January 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Present:<\/strong> Ken Mantock (Chairman), <\/em>Jean-Daniel Kursner, Sally McGrath (Membership Secretary),<\/em> John Soane (Built Environment Officer), <\/em>Hilda Brownlow, Alex McKinstry and \u00a0<\/em>Phil Stanley-Watts<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n Apologies: <\/strong>Jean Bird (Vice Chairman) and <\/em>Elaine Cooper.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n 20 Huntly Road – <\/strong>Extend considerably an existing\u00a0 family house – defer for design improvements.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 31 New Road – <\/strong>A block of seven flats on the site of a small bungalow – refuse.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n West Cliff Inn,\u00a0 15 West Cliff Road –\u00a0 <\/strong>Demolish the existing hotel and to replace it with a three\/four storey block of flats \u2013 Allow.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 9 Ravine Road – <\/strong>Demolish an existing interwar residence – defer for further discussion and improvement.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 29 Magna Road – <\/strong>Demolish an annexe to an existing twentieth century property and\u00a0 to construct three, two storey, two bedroom dwellings parallel to each other at the rear of the site – |Refuse.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 257-259\u00a0 Belle Vue Road – <\/strong>Demolish the existing\u00a0 building\u00a0 and to replace it with a three storey block of 14 flats.\u00a0 – defer for further discussion and improvement.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Land\u00a0 rear\u00a0 of Ringwood Road behind the Clock House – C<\/strong>onstruct three semi- detached, two bedroom houses – defer for further discussion and improvement.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 29-36 Westover Road (relates to the rear of the building in Hinton Road ) – <\/strong>Construct an seven\/eight storey student accommodation block on the site\u00a0 of the\u00a0 rear section of the old ice – Defer for discussion and improvement.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 15 Wotton Gardens\/19 Old Christchurch Road\/1Glen Fern Road\u00a0\u00a0 – <\/strong>Extend existing premises by the construction of an additional 3rd<\/sup>. and 4th<\/sup>. floor in order to create 26 small flats and a ground floor restaurant- defer for further discussion and improvement.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Topsey Turvey House, Pavilion Terrace, Bath Road Flyover<\/strong> \u2013 A further two years approval on this site – Oppose<\/p>\n <\/p>\n John Soane\u2019s written report for November was tabled at the meeting but noted to be too late for submission to the Planning Department.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ken noted that Elaine and Hilda had signalled that they would be standing down form the committee at the AGM and he also wished to stand down as Chairman at that time. He might continue on the Committee during a transitional period but after more than 20 years as Hon Secretary and now as Chairman said he felt he had done hit bit and it was time for a new generation to come forward.
